Cisco CallManager 4 with Asterisk VM (SIP)

Back in 2005 after upgrading to CallManager 4, I updated my previous tutorial to describe Asterisk Voicemail integration using SIP instead of H323. These instructions are below. Overview Asterisk provides a flexible voicemail system that is a viable option for companies using Cisco Callmanager who do not wish to implement Cisco Unity. At the time this tutorial was written, the

AussieHQ IPv6 Update

As of June 2011, I am no longer employed by AussieHQ. This post is for reference only. One of the projects I am running at AussieHQ is the deployment of IPv6 within our content network. It has been a while since I have posted an update and I thought it would be a good idea to do so. There are

NEC Ranger Pages Restored

Since removing the NEC Ranger pages in May, I’ve received numerous emails from people wanting them placed back online. I didn’t realise the number of people that still referenced the pages regularly, otherwise I wouldn’t have removed them in the first place. I don’t plan on updating the pages anymore, but they are at least back online here (and in

Internode officially launches IPv6 service

Adelaide based Internet service provider Internode have now launched Australia’s first nationwide commercial IPv6 service. Internode’s offering is available natively to Ethernet and BGP customers, and via a Hexago tunnel broker for customers on Layer 2 services such as ADSL. It’s great to see a company such as Internode taking this initiative to increase IPv6 usage. We’ve had IPv6 BGP

Phantom of the Opera

I first had the privilege of seeing Phantom of the Opera in 1992 with my Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. I still remember the excitement of seeing Phantom for the first time and falling in love with the production. In the past 16 years I’ve listened to the soundtrack countless times (Andrew Lloyd Webber is ranked 2nd on my Last.fm profile) and

Cisco CallManager 3 with Asterisk VM

Back in 2005 I wrote a tutorial that explained how to use Asterisk PBX as a voicemail system for a Cisco Callmanager 3.3(5) environment. The tutorial was quite popular, but went offline when I forgot to renew the domain it was hosted on. I have recreated the tutorial below. Note: You will need a bidirectional calling link between Asterisk and

NEC Ranger Pages Removed

Update: The pages are now back online. You can read more about it here. One of the sections that existed on previous versions of my site was the NEC Ranger AK resource guide. This section had some programming and usage information for the NEC Ranger AK; a popular small business telephone system introduced in 1989. I hadn’t updated those pages

New Site Launched

Over the past 8 years there have been several reincarnations of se.id.au and shaunewing.com – my personal web sites. I took the site offline some time ago because the design had aged along with the content that went with it. I had some great plans in place to build a great web site with all different resources, but unfortunately I

Site Now IPv6 Enabled

As of June 2011, I am no longer employed by AussieHQ. This post is for reference only. As some of you may know, the AussieHQ data network has been IPv6 enabled for approximately 3 months now. In that time I have been working on developing a set of procedures for provisioning and managing our IPv6 resources, as well as what
