Following in the footsteps of Australia’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA), the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other regulatory bodies globally, Royal Caribbean is now advising guests that Samsung Note 7 devices will no longer be allowed onboard their ships.
Guests with upcoming bookings are now being advised by email, and the following notice has been placed on their web site:
Royal Caribbean will no longer allow Samsung Galaxy Note 7 cell phones onboard our ships. This decision was made in light of recent incidents and safety concerns raised by Samsung about this particular device, as well as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recent ban of the phone from all airplanes. We ask that guests who own a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 not bring the device on your cruise. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation, and looking forward to welcoming you aboard.
If you have a Samsung Note 7 you should follow the recall instructions at http://www.samsung.com/au/galaxynote7-notice/ to return your device to the place of purchase for a full refund or exchange for a Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge as soon as possible.
