Back from Melbourne

January 22, 2003

After a wonderful few days in Melbourne, we touched down in Sydney at 2:35pm today. The weather on landing wasn’t the best with heavy clouds + rain.

Whilst on board Virgin Blue, I bought Richard Branson’s book Losing My Virginity. I also bought a model of a Virgin Blue Boeing 737-700.

Melbourne was great. We visited the Rialto Towers, Old Melbourne Gaol, some of the Law courts and explored the CBD. The few days we had were enough to get a taste of what Melbourne is like (I hadn’t been since I was 8 years old) and we’ll definately be going back!

Hotel Ibis in Lt Bourke Street where we stayed was excellent. Whilst it wasn’t the most luxurious hotel; it was clean, modern and the staff were very friendly not to mention being in a great location. Next time I travel to Melbourne I’ll be certain to stay there again.

I took some photographs of aircraft in Melbourne Airport from the observation deck. Some of these photographs have been placed in my photography section at photography.shaunewing.com. I’ll put the rest of my photographs online as time permits.

That brings us to the end of this journal entry. Have a nice day! 🙂
