E164.org

Recently I decided to take a look at E164.org; a directory of telephone numbers that can be reached over the Internet. I have an Asterisk PBX installed in my home+office with incoming service through ISDN (provided by the Telco; Telstra) as well as interconnects with various VoIP providers. E164.org allows people with telephone numbers also reachable via the Internet (eg:

Mac Mini – Two Days Later

Two days after receiving my Mac Mini, I’ve grown rather attached to Mac OS X and the assorted applications that come with it. One of the first things I installed was Lotus Notes 6.5 for Mac OS X, and I am composing this journal entry from within that. One application I intend on investigating more is Garageband 2 (the Mac

Running out of network ports

What does one do when one runs out of network ports near one’s desk? Back when I was installing the computer network in my house (pre IP PBX days), I never envisioned needing more than two network ports at my desk. Accordingly, that’s all I installed. Right now I have three devices on my desk that require a network port.

Mac Mini – Thanks to Startrack Express

I’m now the proud owner of a Mac Mini. A short time ago, a courier dropped it off. Unfortunately I’m working at the moment, so I won’t get time to really play until this evening. I’m looking forward to experiencing Mac OS X (I’ve used Mac OS X for a combined hour in the past – comprised of fiddling around

Mac Mini Ordered

I had a predicament this morning. I wanted my Mac Mini and I wanted it now 😉 A few calls to Apple resellers in the Sydney area resulted in disappointment – everybody was out of stock and nobody was expecting any stock until at least next week. After contemplating if I should wait or not, I decided on “not”. I

Mac Mini – Shipment Notification for order

To my absolute shock, I just received an email from Apple. It seems that my Mac Mini has shipped out already. “Today” is not the 2 weeks I was originally quoted. If my single order from the Apple Store in the past is anything to go by, I’ll have it tomorrow. I can’t wait!

Flying Tigers Group

I’m somewhat of a Microsoft Flight Simulator fanatic. I have Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 (and 2002, and 2000) and fly whenever I can. I’m also a member of a VA (Virtual Airline) – Qantas Virtual to be more specific with pilot ID QF555. Qantas Virtual is an airline in the Flying Tigers Group (which also includes many other VAs). As

Header Image now random

You’ve probably noticed the photo at the top of every page on my site – up until now it has been the Sydney Harbour Bridge. This evening I was feeling a little bored, so I created two new images and a php image randomiser script. Whenever you view a page, one of three images is randomly selected and displayed. All

Journal Spam

I suppose every journal/blog is incomplete without comment spam, and I just noticed my first lot of it. Fortunately it was all deleted with a few keypresses.
